Glitch is generally defined as an irregularity in a system. A temporary malfunction that is yet to be “fixed.”
We believe unique individuals start out as apparent "irregularities" in the system and tagged as “malfunctioning” individuals that need to be “fixed.” Through persistence and passion to their craft, these unique individuals would later be revealed to their higher consciousness why they had possessed the glitch. Or rather, why they were the glitches.
As an example, women back in the day stayed at home. It was the norm. It was the accepted system. Universities and scientific communities were men’s worlds. However, as glitches occur, a woman - through her perseverance and hard work, did not let the system dictate her life and went on to discover and even coin the term, “radioactivity,” which would later have a significant impact on the world’s technology especially in the field of medical diagnostics.
While traditional education was the normative system back then, there was a boy who did so poorly at school that his mother taught him at home. He then went on to become the person to invent the first commercial incandescent light bulb. He was a glitch in the system that previously implied only those who did great in school are to achieve higher levels of success.
This other glitch had a different angle. While he did not necessarily do poor in school, this boy had quite difficulty functioning in a traditional classroom and was even suspended a few times. His vision however, turned him out to be a pioneer in the microcomputer and smartphone revolution.
While systems, traditions, and norms have their place, glitches have their place too. In humans, they are individuals who possess unique talents, abilities, and way of thinking that if applied on the right direction, could spark revolutions in their chosen fields.
We don't necessarily believe only certain individuals are glitches. We believe we all possess a certain glitch within ourselves, a unique gift that can change the world. It may not be an invention. It may not be a constructed theory. It could even be a gift of a new way of thinking! A higher and expanded way of thinking! We just need to accept our uniqueness and apply it passionately in creating the best version of ourselves!
The glitch logo contains the word glitch inside a rectangle with the letter "i" transposed with a triangle. It is intended to visually be the glitch in the word with the rectangle encasing it acting as the 'system.' The triangle is meant to emphasize the glitch, which we believe is the key to manifesting the ultimately unique gifts we can bless the world with.
We were born to be real, not to be perfect.
